Greenlane - Main Studio

A two studio complex with purpose built facilities. The studios are equipped with mirrors, barres, sprung dance floors, piano and sound systems.
The studios were designed with careful consideration of dancers’ particular and exacting requirements. The aim, to create a place both functional and inspiring. Safety, space, ambience and a functional floor are a dancer’s main concerns. Foremost is the safety aspect, the prevention of injuries. To ensure the studios complement our practice of careful teaching, we ensured that the design was uncompromising on safety. To that end, the glass partitions, doors and mirrors are made from laminated safety glass. |
We ensured also that the floor exceeded the
safety requirements by installing a specially designed dancers’ sprung floor
with a slip resistant coat. This is a
shock absorbent floor with air space underneath the timber to allow plenty of
‘give’, cushioning a dancer’s landing, thus minimising fatigue and injury.
The main studio is an exceptionally spacious 150sqm. This studio, being stage size, is also used for exams and production rehearsals. Generous windows line the entire length of each studio, creating a light and airy ambience. The parquet design floor adds to this creative atmosphere. We wanted to create the best possible facilities for our students. We believe we have a studio that is both functional yet artistically inspiring. |

This is a bright and airy studio, with floor to
ceiling windows and slide doors opening to an outdoor play area for siblings.
